​

공기, 대기는 끊임없이 흘러가고 이동한다. 
바이러스로 인해 많은 사람들의 삶이 크게 변화하는 과정을 본 후 나는 공기, 대기에 초점을 맞춰 생각하기 시작한다. 그 중 공기 중 ‘흐름’에 집중했고, 공기가 흐르는 장면을 작업으로 이어 나갔다.
우리가 흔히 말하는 '공기의 분위기'로 예를 들 수 있다. 우리가 어떤 장소에 있을 때 그때의 감정과 느껴지는 분위기를 공기의 분위기라고 임의로 설정하곤 한다. 공기라는 것은 사실 보이지 않는, 즉 비가시적인 영역이 분명하지만 우리는 감정을 넣어 마치 보이는 것처럼 표현하곤 한다. 나 또한 이와 비슷하게 감정의 영역을 더해 공기의 흐름을 자유롭고, 유동적이며 생동감을 가시적으로 보여주고자 했다. 하지만 이 단어들 역시 눈에 보이지 않는 비가시적 영역이며, 이 영역을 지극히 나만의 개인적인 해석으로 풀어나갔다.

‘공기의 흐름’, 공기가 흘러가는 과정을 내가 느끼는 분위기로 표현했고, 우리는 이 공간을 거대한 공간으로 인식할 수 있다. 그 공간은 너무나도 크고, 우리(사람)는 관여할 수 없는 공간이며 우리의 힘으로 바꿔낼 수도 없는 공간이다. 우리는 그 거대한 공간을 바라봄으로써 위대함과 경외감을 동시에 느낀다. 그 거대한 공간은 아무도 볼 수도 만질 수도 없는 공간이지만 이 공간에서 느껴지는 감정과 분위기, 향수를 더해 시각적으로 나타나고 있다.

Artist Statement​

​

The air continues to flow and move.
After seeing the process of greatly changing the lives of many people due to the virus, I begin to focus on the air and atmosphere. Among them, I focused on the "flow" in the air, and the scene of the air flowing led to my work. 
An example is the 'air mood' we commonly refer to. When we are in a place, we arbitrarily set the emotions and atmosphere we feel as the mood of air. Air is actually an invisible area, and we often put emotions in that area and express it as visible. Similarly, I tried to show the flow of air free, fluid, and lively by adding an area of emotion. However, these words are also invisible areas, and I have worked on this area through extremely personal interpretation.

The flow of air, the process of flowing air, is expressed as the mood I feel, and we can recognize this space as a huge space. This space is too wide, we (the people) cannot be involved, and we cannot switch to our own power. We feel both greatness and awe by looking at the huge space. The huge space is a space that no one can see or touch, but it appears visually by adding emotions, atmosphere, and nostalgia felt in this space.
